NAW HLA HLA SOE
Board of Trustee
Naw Hla Hla Soe is currently serving as a Member of Parliament at Amyotha Hluttaw. She has been working in different organizations to strengthen the civil societies in Myanmar. She is also a co-founder of Karen Women Action Group (KWAG) and has valiantly fought for social justice especially in Myanmar Women trafficking issue. She was successfully leading the women empowerment trainings, microfinance programs for community development, fostering health and education programs in Yangon Region, Ayeyarwady Region, and Kayin State. Naw Hla Hla Soe received several awards including International Humanitarian Award (2012), Women and Peace Prize – Women’s Organization Network (2013), and Woman of the Year (2012-2013 – Myanmar Times, Hotnews).
AUNG MYO MIN
Board of Trustee
U Aung Myo Min is an Executive Director of Equality Myanmar/Human Rights Education Institute of Burma. He worked at several different organizations including Human Rights Documentation Unit (HRDU), National Coalition Government of the Union of Burma (NCGUB), All Burma Students’ Democratic Front and Human Rights Watch. He is also currently serving as board and advisor at different organizations. U Aung Myo Min received several awards including Courage Award, Malaysia; Outstanding Human Rights Award, Buffalo University, NY; Recognition of Excellent LGBT Award, San Francisco; and, Fillipa De Souza Ward, ILGA.
Ye Naing Moe

Ye Naing Moe is the founding Director of Yangon Journalism School (YJS). He has been teaching local journalists in Myanmar since 2003. Before Ye became a media trainer, he used to be an editor for a few local monthly magazines. Ye Naing Moe studied, as a visiting scholar, journalism at Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism at University of California. He studied Peace Journalism at SOAS of University of London and also studied Media Law and Policy at Jesus College of Oxford University. Ye Naing Moe writes regular columns for 7 Day daily newspaper and also writes scripts for Satori Creative Works film production company.
CAROL MOET MOET AYE
Co-founder and Executive Director
Carol Moet Moet Aye is an Executive Director Cum Research and Advocacy Director and co-founder of Another Development. Carol is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the organization and overseeing the planning, implementation and evaluation of the organization’s programs and services. Prior to joining AD, Carol was Documentation, Monitoring and Evaluation and Reporting Officer at Karen Development Network (KDN). She also worked as Program Manager and Program Officer at Biodiversity and Nature Conservation Association (BANCA) and Sustainable Development Knowledge Network (Spectrum) respectively. She holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from Yangon University, and an MSc in Urban Environmental Management from Asian Institute of Technology.
MAW HTUN AUNG
Co-founder and Strategic Advisor
Maw Htun Aung is a Strategic Advisor and co-founder of Another Development. He also works for Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI) as a Country Manager where he works with government ministries, civil society, the media, legislatures, the private sector, and international institutions to promote accountable and effective governance in the extractive industries. Maw Htun holds a MA (Social Policy and Social Development) from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Master of Public Administration from Cornell University.
MAI HLA AYE
Mai Hla Aye is a co-founder and former Executive Director Cum Strategic Communication Director of Another Development. She was Program Manager at Environmental Investigation Agency and EcoDev where she mainly worked on project cycle management, contractual management and accountability, and coordination. Mai Hla Aye holds a BA (Social Studies) from Myanmar Institute of Theology and a MA (Public Administration) from Central European University, Budapest, Hungary.
Tar Yar Maung is a co-founder and former part-time Operation Director of Another Development. She also worked at various organizations including as a Country Consultant for American Jewish World Service, a National Coordinator for Myanmar Alliance for Transparency and Accountability (MATA), and a Senior Program Coordinator for Paung Ku – Strengthening Civil Society Initiatives. She holds a Master in Development Management from University of Asian Institute of Management, Manila, and she is now currently pursuing her Master of Science in Environmental Management and Development at Australian National University.
